Clinics and Services

Home Visits

If you need a home visit, please telephone the surgery.

Please give the receptionist a contact number as you may be contacted by one of the medical staff for further information. Every effort should be made to attend the surgery where possible.

Please note, home visits are only provided for the genuinely housebound – under no circumstances do we provide home visits purely for reasons of social convenience.

If you are requesting a home visit on behalf of a friend or relative, please ensure that the patient has consented to a visit prior to calling the practice.

Out Of Hours

Out of Hours care is provided by UC24 on behalf of NHS Knowsley. When the surgery is closed emergency care can be obtained by dialling 111.

Disabled Access

The practice has suitable access for people with complex needs.

Health Checks

Patients aged between 40 and 74 are entitled to receive a health check every 5 years. If you believe that you are due, please telephone the practice.

Private Fees

It is important to understand that GP’s are not employed by the NHS, they are self employed, and they have to cover their own costs – staff, heating etc in the same way as any other small business. As such “non-NHS” services may be charged for at an appropriate rate depending on the amount of work and time the specific request takes. If you have any questions – please ask one of the practice staff.

Medical Examinations

Some insurance forms can appear deceptively simple but need a full examination for their completion. This can take a long time, as such a fee has to be charged.

A special appointment will be required. We will require the paperwork in advance to know exactly what is needed. Once the paperwork has been reviewed, you will be advised of the next steps, including the fee for the service, which is usually required prior to any work is undertaken. Pre-employment, HGV and PSV licenses are not paid for by the NHS.

When a doctor signs a certificate or completes a report, it is a condition of remaining on the Medical Register that they only sign what they know to be true. In order to complete even the simplest of forms the doctor may need to check your entire medical record. Carelessness or inaccuracies may have very serious implications for the doctor.
